The Reedy Creek Neighborhood Watch held our first annual Giving Back Event on December 11, 2018. In our neighborhood, we look out for each other; we decided that we also wanted to look out for families in need within the city of Charlotte.
Thank you to the following organizations for coming out.
We invited local organizations and charities so we as a community can help them collect donated items for those in need.
CMPD Animal Care & Control- Collected blankets, towels, dog bedding, canned and dry unopened dog and cat food, pet toys, crates, carriers, rabbit food
Charlotte Fire Department- Collected new, unused smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, AA, AAA, and 9V batteries.
Children's Home Society- Collected diapers (all sizes), pull-ups, baby care items, convertible car seats, booster seats, $25 gift cards (Walmart, Target), infant/toddler educational toys, books (for all ages), Legos, baby monitors, cribs/ bassinets, crib mattresses, shoes (all sizes and genders), coats, snow boots, and dolls (all ethnicities).
Crisis Assistance Ministry- Collected men’s clothing, shoes & work boots; Linens: towels, blankets, sheets, comforters; backpacks and luggage items with wheels; dishware, pots & pans; new undergarments (all sizes), new travel-sized toiletries.
Jazzundaground, Intl- Collected used cell phones with cords and chargers, hygiene items, household cleaning supplies, laundry detergent for survivors of domestic violence.
Justice Ministries- Collected prepaid gift cards for groceries, gas and general Visa/MasterCard gift cards for misc needs; Uber and Lyft gift cards to set up transportation for clients (victims of human trafficking); Amazon gift cards to send items to them directly.
Promising Pages- Collected books for children aged toddler to fifth grade.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina- Collected sealed canned fish or meat, peanut butter, canned low sodium soups and stews, canned or dry beans, canned fruit in juice.
