National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday in August. This year it fell on August 7.
From April to July, we held planning meetings for a National Night Out event. It was the first one we as a committee planned, and we invited CMPD to our planning meetings.
It was organized chaos for those months and it became bigger than we imagined. But the teamwork made it all worth it. Thanks to the agencies and individuals who donated their time and expertise, we had a memorable and successful event. There are few things more rewarding than seeing neighbors, law enforcement, and city, county, and state government officials come together to share information, quell concerns, and enjoying each other’s company.
