Rachel Brummert – Director | Executive Producer
Rachel Brummert is a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, and is a member of the Mecklenburg County Domestic Violence Speaker’s Bureau. The Strings Attached is her first feature documentary. She is founder and president of Community Impact, which works with local community organizations in Charlotte, North Carolina focusing on nursing homes, domestic violence, sexual violence, mental health, and veteran’s issues. Her work in the community opens up a place for vigorous community engagement and vital change. She is dedicated to challenging the stereotypes and ingrained belief systems about domestic violence and rape and highlights gaps in the system that do little to change the fundamental dynamics of abuse.
Brummert is from East Brunswick, NJ and currently resides in Charlotte, NC.
Jennifer Tucker – Director | Executive Producer | Editor
Jennifer Tucker is a recording artist, writer, and public speaker, and is a member of the Mecklenburg County Domestic Violence Speaker’s Bureau. The Strings Attached is her first feature documentary. She uses her voice and platform to empower survivors of domestic violence. She has a strong drive to educate employers about the role they play in the domestic violence world. She speaks up about how domestic violence relationships develop and become patterns, poverty among women, and workplace abuse and injustices in hopes of provoking change.
Tucker, who is a domestic abuse survivor, is founder of Wages For Women, a campaign for domestic abuse victims to address the major gaps in the system of care, support, and resources provided.
