Every 73 Seconds is an investigative documentary about one of the most awkward and painful topics: sexual assault.
In the United States, a person is sexually assaulted every 73 seconds. Three out of four assaults go unreported, leaving victims to bury their pain. The film aims to dismantle misconceptions and change the culture, which allows it to be seen through the eyes of survivors. It follows the stories of three brave survivors who talk about the survivability of sexual assault and their healing journeys in the aftermath.
Once called the Mount Fuji of the Northwest, Mount St. Helens - dormant for over 123 years- erupted in fury on May 18, 1980, in Southwest Washington State, leaving behind a landscape of devastation and death. It is the deadliest and most destructive volcanic event in living memory in the United States.
In the aftermath, geologic research teams carefully unearthed artifacts from their ashen grave, giving insight into those who lived and died on Mount St. Helens. In never-before-seen video and photos of excavated artifacts, witness the legacies of innkeeper Harry R. Truman, photographer Reid Blackburn, volcanologist David A. Johnston, and others who documented living history even after their deaths.
